Almost done. Purpose built car. From Keith:
Ice Nine designed the carbon fiber hood, carbon roof plug and vent, carbon quarter windows, carbon rear wing and carbon door panels. Our friends at Team O’Neil did an amazing job with the spec cage, underbody protection, custom Bilstien shocks, custom hand brake and many other items. We built this car to be a dual purpose race car that can be used on and off the pavement. I had the chance to test drive the car yesterday and the power adders along with the suspension upgrades really made it come alive! Not that the Fiesta ST is a slouch!
Lot of cool pieces in this one. Look for it on Ford's stage in Vegas! Along with a couple other builds by !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ...

ooo, cage tied to a-pillar, both SEMA pretty and functional

looks the business inside!
umm... is that an ipaq?

I like asymmetry, like A LOT, but this one blue spoke and one orange on the rear is horrendous

The front driver side wheel is actually the only one that's all orange with one blue spoke. Other 3 are like the rear. I dig it. Obviously not gonna be for everyone though.

OH I WANT THESE FOG LIGHTS
TELL ME WHERE I CAN BUY THEM. FORD, TAKE ALL MY MONEY!
EDIT: Dammit Kinja, I didn't point over there.

it would hardly be a SEMA car if it was just going to look like everyone else's, the show is really all about innovating. Then you take the one or two things people love and those make it to a production design 5 years from now right.

My brain is confused between trying to throw up and wanting that interior in my focus....
The outside is horrendus. Not to mention they pretty much just threw parts from the "premium" section of autozone, where instead of chrome it's carbon fiber, all over the outside of the car.
Inside is 10/10. Outside could've used something a lot more practical. This car looks like something from Midnight Club. The PS2 version.

I really like the concept of the orange lines on top of the hood tying into the orange on the lower lip

Midnight club? More like Nightmare Fuel.

It has haunted me ever since posting my comment......I now want to throw tear graphics and giant tribal tattoos on all of my cars.

cobb access port.

Way off base. The graphics aren't my thing either, but all the "autozone" carbon fiber pieces are real CF specifically designed for this project.

You sure about that? That roof vent is a complete one-off? And functional?
Or what about the wing? Is it a one-off, not taken from the design of any popular Fiesta wing that already exists?
I'm just asking, because my observations tell me otherwise.

"NOOOOOO We needed all the wheels to be bright orange, why are you painting that one!? Goddamnit...Well it's too late to fix, just bolt it on there. We'll play it off somehow.
You're fired, by the way."

+1. Those would look kickass on my fiesta.

Did you read the post or just look at the pictures?
They worked with SCT Composites on the CF.

Let me run it down for you so it may make more sense:
The hood is a one off real carbon fiber part that weighs about 4lbs. We don't run an inner since it is a race part and we proved out our design on our GTO drift car. The spoiler is a carbon version of the stocker that we made, well, simply because we can. The front and rear quarter windows were removed and are also made out of carbon and we added a duct to bring in fresh air. The roof scoop? Yeah you got us on that. It was not made by us but is also not found at any Autozone. It's actually a left over part from a Cobra build from last year. The sunroof was removed to make room for the cage and the plug is carbon as well.
The outside is supposed to be loud and once the car gets all of it's sponsor logos and race numbers it will make sense to most people. The parts on the car are there for function first. A lot of suppliers really like the car. So much that companies like Tim O'Neil Motorsports, Cobb Tuning, Banks Power, Braid Wheels and Falken Tires sent us the items we needed to build the car. If there is any doubt in how well the car works just look at what Tim O'Neil does with his cars as his team was a big part of the project. If you are at SEMA stop by the Ford booth and check it and the other cars we built this year. They will all be on the main stage....

Ok.. Someone explain this to me? Is it a Gremlin that isn't supposed to get wet? Should I not feed it after midnight too?

Educate myself? I own the company and I know where the name came from... Yes, it's a Cat's Cradle reference along with a song by Satriani...
You are one of the very few who actually make the connection...props to you Sir!

It was a sarcastic "Educate yourself." But, yeah it's a shame most don't get it.

But, yeah the car's looking killer, great job on it.

Well, I'll say congratulations on being able to make a SEMA car and getting support for some of the big name guys out there. I wasn't trying to make a stab at you guys, just pointing out that they weren't exactly one off or specifically made for the car. I may not be a fan of the car, but that goes for most SEMA cars.
So I apologize if I offended you guys. Obviously my Autozone reference was just exaggeration, and I know you guys are good when it comes to function over form. I've sat in the GTO so I know what you guys are capable of.

No worries man! Not every car we build suits everyone's taste...if so they would all be boring. I will say that every carbon part on the car was made just for this build and are one off. Find any of those parts anywhere else...
Wait until you see the other two cars we have going to Vegas. One is our wide body GT500 and the other you will see via Ford's press release next Tuesday...

I really liked the Fusion you guys worked on too. Makes me second guess getting our Focus instead of a Fusion! But definitely seems like you guys have had your hands full. I'll keep an eye out for the secret build!

Do you have any parts for the car left? Cobb access port maybe? PIAA lights? Or know if the access port was unmarried when the car sold?
Also wondering why you left the condenser in? Was this to block rocks on the rad? Or maybe to hold space in the front end module?
Thanks, Phill.
